Founded in 2011, Bad Blood is a Berlin based clothing company run by street artist, illustrator and Just Us Alumni member Nick Cocozza. Bad Blood clothing is deeply rooted in the contemporary illustration and urban culture and incorporates original artistic works within their pieces. Nick Cocozza graduated from Duncan Of Jordanstone college of art in 2010, shortly after he went travelling before setting up camp in Berlin.

“I sold all my belongings on ebay before I moved to Germany, investing £300 in printing the first run of T-shirts. With a lot of support from mates, they sold really well and i just continued to invest the profit into new designs.” Nick Cocozza

Shortly after the first run of T-shirts got printed, Nick teamed up with a good mate “Sencer” over at “Digisin Apparel”, who now takes care of the printing side of things, giving Nick more time to concentrate on new designs and promotion

Within the past year the company has come so far, Last month We teamed up with the very talented photographer Rebecka Wolfe and had the first professional Bad Blood photo shoot in Brighton. The photos will be made into a full online lookbook and will be online soon.

Skateboarders “Toby Shaw” and “Dean Robertson” have also become sponsors for Bad Blood and will be representing the clothing in their new Skate video coming out in December 2012.

“The company is still growing but its an extremely exciting time, what started off as a small idea to make a few T-shirts has rapidly become a new and exciting clothing company that is gaining worldwide recognition.”

Mates is a celebratory exhibition to help raise funds for Mans best friend, featuring contemporary graphic arts, illustration and crafts from Leeds (Look out for Just Us Collective member Sam Tomlins too).

“We aim to return the love that dogs bring us by raising money for the Dogs Trust. Come down, look at some of our work, smile and maybe give some money to a good cause!”

All work is for sale at real prices, without the pretentious attitude. There will also be stall based goods available for purchase, and remember all profits go towards the Dogs Trust.

I stumbled upon the work of Roger Kelly whilst site hopping the internet, his latest paintings are something which caught my eye purely down to the fact they look like they were created digitally. The collection titled ‘A Sort of Night to the Mind, A Kind of Night for our Thoughts’ – which derives from two alternative translations of Honoré de Balzac’s description of illusion from the 1832 short story ‘The Purse’, was recently on show at ‘Artary Galerie’ in Germany.

“Roger Kelly makes intricate large-scale landscape paintings that originate as line drawings, combining photographic references and invented elements”.

The drawings are enlarged and then transferred to canvas and painted, resulting in compositions that appear to be digitized, downloaded images that belie their painstakingly handcrafted nature.

Sitting Room Skipping is an exhibition curation group organised by an event promoter Alex Bowman Wookie, artist Estelle Birch and Just Us Collective member Masaki Miwa.

“Sitting Room Skipping work along a similar line as the Just Us Collective; to promote up-coming/emerging student talents in all art & design areas.”

For each exhibition, Sitting Room Skipping asks participants to create a piece of work on a particular theme. Their first exhibition themed “KAIJU” (A Japanese term to describe strange beasts/ monsters, the likes of Godzilla, Mothra, Ultraman) was at Dalston/ Haggerston in London at Powerlunches. The exhibition was accompanied with gigs by EWE (Ex- My Luminaries), Beat Ratio. Masaki Miwa and 2 of the Just Us Collective members, Pablo Jones-Soler & Josh Greet also exhibited their works. Nic Joly makes one-off commissions and limited edition pieces of furniture and sculpture for private and corporate clients all over the world. Although predominantly working in furniture design his latest works – ‘Little people under foot’ are a humorous series of miniature models, moulded and painted by hand.
