Here is a great little documentary giving a good insight into the world of large scale hand painted advertising. Up There, directed by Malcolm Murray, explores the production of these advertisements, most of which are currently done using vinyl prints, an efficient and inexpensive process, but one that has put a lot of old-school painters out of work.
Its lunchtime for me and I happened to stumble across this quirky brand refresh for Chiquita Bananas. Art Director DJ Neff was behind this one and has given the product a friendly edge; creating different character faces for the stickers you often find on branded bananas.
